UNDERSTANDING PRAYERS
People pray many different kinds of prayers and these can be grouped in few different ways. This does not refer to the classifications or categories of prayers of protection, help, comfort & worship and thanks. As there are so many different kinds of prayers, we have to first group these and then go in to the details of understanding them. The main groups of prayers are:

Negative Prayers

Prayers of Forgiveness and Repentance

Prayers of Material Gains and Luxuries

Prayers of Promises to God

Prayers that are prayed from Holy Books

Prayers that are Protected
Negative Prayers – are prayers that will never reach the heavens and no one from the good Spirit World will ever touch these prayers. For example "God please punish _____ because he/she has caused harm to me". We should absolutely refrain from praying a negative prayer. These prayers keep on floating and since such prayers do not get picked up by any soul of the good Spirit World, the evil ones may pick these up and use it to their advantage. Negative prayers can never benefit us, if at all, these can only harm us.
Prayers of Forgiveness and Repentance – These are prayers that ask for forgiveness and repentance for actions that one has realised as not good. Although one may pray a prayer of forgiveness or repentance, there is nothing that the heavens can offer as God does not punish and therefore cannot forgive. Everyone has to face the consequence of their own actions and although these prayers may provide the person praying the prayer with comfort and angels may listen to these prayers, they will not carry them. Therefore, these cannot truly be called prayers.
Prayers of Material Gains and Luxuries – These are prayers asking for some good amount of material gains (including luxuries) and they are asked for no particular reasons. An example would be to pray for passing an exam for which the person asking for did not prepare themselves, or asking for some increase in wealth even though one has more wealth than others and is self-sufficient. We should not waste time praying such prayers as this can sometimes result in wasting your own the time and those listening to the prayers. It can happen, at times, that help that could have been given can then in fact get lost.
Prayers of Promises to God – Many people pray to God making promises in the nature of offerings such as donations to some charities or temples or churches. These types of promises are not liked by God or His angels. We should also not make any material offerings to God, as every thing material is already His. Promises such as the following are the ones liked by God:

The promise of being good and remaining good once some prayer is answered.

The promise of helping someone when someone really needs help.

The promise of spreading the knowledge of God and His kingdom.
We should only make the promise to spread the knowledge of God and His kingdom once this knowledge is acquired and possessed. If someone is not very knowledgeable about God’s laws or God’s ways then this person should then make a promise of spreading the word of God when some prayer is granted and by letting others know how praying helped them or by letting others have the prayer that was prayed so that those needing some similar help can pray the same prayer and in doing so this prayer can also get more power.
Prayers prayed from Holy Books – People should pray more of these prayers that have been received from the heavens because all prayers that are given have been powered by good God’s own angels. Praying prayers that are powered by God are the most powerful ones and it will help all those who are praying such protected prayers because these will give out some very powerful vibrations. Any prayer that is protected by good God Almighty Himself, when prayed, will always attract some good angels who will be with the person praying all the time that this person prays. So we should all try praying these good prayers.
If someone is praying some prayers that are powered by God and if this person then feels that the prayers are not being answered then there can be a good reason. We should remember that even so no praying of a good prayer that is protected by God ever goes in waste. This is because good angels always go to people praying protected prayers and this in itself will help us a lot.
Prayers that are Protected/Powered – The prayers that are protected by God cannot be granted by anyone from the evil world - only those in the good Spirit World can do so. It is always safe to pray prayers that are protected for the reason that no other forces except the very good ones can grant these. If we pray unprotected prayers it is possible for some evil forces to grant these to us and it can appear as though the prayer is granted but this can turn out to be harmful to us. The prayers that are powered are those that God Almighty has empowered some angels to grant them. Prayers in Holy Books are generally God powered and protected.
We should understand that praying prayers is important and prayers are required to be prayed with a lot of understanding. When we make up our own prayers, we should always pray a protection prayer first so that our prayers reach to only those in the good Spirit World who grant these.
Granting of Prayers – If some prayer is not granted in a reasonable time then it should be understood that there would be a good reason for it not being granted. This is why we should pray with a request to God to grant a prayer only if the granting of this will be beneficial to you and your family. If a prayer is prayed in this manner, and a prayer is still not granted, then you should thank God for the prayer not being granted, as you will then be sure that the prayer would not have been good for you.
